Industrial plants: Taiwan may grow vegetables in factories

The Taiwan government's economic policy planner has suggested that the relevant authorities take measures to promote the establishment of "plant factories" as part of efforts to maintain the country's staple food production at a level that meets demand.
Promotion of "environmentally controlled" cultivation of culinary plants is necessary, as the world is facing radical climate change and a worsening shortage of food resulting from the decline in plant production, the Council for Economic Planning and Development said in a statement.
