Prof. Yamaguchi was born in Kagoshima, and was grown up in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki and Nakano, Tokyo. After he was graduated from the Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University in 1971, he joined DuPont Far East Inc. (currently DuPont K.K.). He experienced the roles of marketing, development and research of crop protection products. He also managed new business development, Medical Business and Biotechnology. He retired in 2006 and joined Graduate School of Horticulture, Chiba University in 2007

 

Main experiences in DuPont

 

- Field market development and promotion of new insecticides and fungicides as a Marketing Representative

 

- Development of a rice herbicide, the first rice product for DuPont. It was launched on the market in 1987 and is used in 60% of paddy fields in Japan even recently.

 

- Promotion of the rice herbicide, that originated from Japan, to the global market, being stationed in DuPont USA.

 

- Managed Crop Protection Business, Medical Business and Biotechnology as a BOD member of DuPont K.K

 

Main experiences in Japan Crop Protection Association (JCPA)

 

- Leadership to develop the method of pesticide risk communication with consumers and to execute it as Vice President and Chairman of Public Affairs of JCPA
